    Dash interchangeable?

I'm wondering if anyone knows if the Breva 1100 and 1200 dashes are interchangeable? I have secured a brand new 1200 dash for low money. If it doesnt work I will use its bezel and glass.

Which side up for fork seal?

Does it matter which way the double seal is placed on a Breva? Being a double seal it has springs visible both sides. One side has the writing and I guess this up as I have always assumed it sits upward facing. The lower seal in that case, has a wider taper than the top side.

Repeatable air in rear brake line

Breva 1100 I replaced the rear brake master 18 months ago. I have a recurring problem with the rear brake pedal going soft over a month. On bleeding, air always is there after about 6 pumps. Not initially. So Im thinking it is not the slave as the air would be ready to pop out on first bleed. I...

    Fuel Map questions

Hi Being inquisitive fellow, I would be interested to know the physics behind the additional fuel map for the right cylinder on the Breva bikes. There is a main fuel map of throttle against rpm with injector times. There is also a difference table where the values are added or subtracted to the...

Thoughts on fuel pressure and lean condition

Today the fuel condition suddenly changed on my Breva 11. I have an air fuel ratio meter on the bike linked to a wide band so I was able to see a different AFR and a loss of power. The problem was the usual 13.5 to 15 AFR suddenly changed to 15.5 to 16.5 range at any engine speed and throttle...

    Speed sensor ECU error 56

I have this error coming up. I looked in the service manual and it specifies a resistance of 500- 600 ohms between the two of the three wires that is not the green earth wire. I measured open circuit so got a replacement. When I tested the brand new item the resistance was 20 Mega Ohms. When I...

Breva 1100 Matris Cartridge Fork Installation Report

Having suffered from a knock from the front forks for some months with no sign of determining the cause, I decided to upgrade to a Matris cartridge kit. Being in the UK I sourced through a local company. My riding weight was taken for spring selection and I waited three weeks before taking...

    Standard Guzzi Breva screen adjustment

Just renewed the screen after riding a year without. I would be grateful for some advice about adjustment to reduce wind buffeting of one's helmet. On my old screen I cut off about 4inches from the top to get smoother flow over the visor. I currently have the screen angled back on the...

    Clonk sound from front forks

Just wondering if other owners experience a heavy clonk sound going over sudden or deep bumps? My bike is 2005 Breva 1100. I rebuilt my forks last year. I have noticed a clonk sound that seems to come from the headlamp cluster. I'm not sure if the sound is from here or is a shortwave been...

    Oil Pressure Gauge takeoff location

I want to fit an oil pressure gauge. I'm thinking of adding another banjo to the cylinder head feed pipes. So instead of one banjo there will be two using a longer banjo bolt. Has anyone used this location and what is a typical pressure reading? Thanks in advance. (Breva 1100)

    Will a Breva 750 screen fit a Breva 1100?

I'm thinking of buying a fly screen for my Breva 1100. It has come off a Breva 750. Would the fixings and dimensions be the same? I dont no anything about the 750. Sorry to ask if this is a stupid question.

    Metal particles in CARC oil

I'm asking for help with with my CARC. I recently split the CARC as part of my restoration project last year, to replace the large 18 ball race with a 19 ball version. I have just drained the oil (at +600 miles) to replace the oil seal that is leaking. I have found a large amount of metal...

    Dirty magnetic oil plug

Since completing a full refurbishment of the Breva 1100, I decided to check the oil condition after 300 miles. I found the magnet in the oil plug coated with metal particles!! The new oil looked quite opaque but no particles were visible. The engine has new rings, tappet followers, cam, big...

    Filling new brake lines

I have replaced the front brake pipes and refurbished the slave and master cylinders with new seals on my Guzzi Breva I'm restoring. I have had difficulty before and I would be grateful for any tips to fill the front brake system with fluid. I remember a previous preponderance. I worked it out...

    Sound deadening rubber spacers

One thing I forgot to record on my rebuild was the location of the sound deadening rubber spacers around the block (and head?). There are 27 each side. I would be grateful if anyone could load up photos showing the spacers from the different sides.

    Piston ring gap clearance

Before I commence the rebuild of the Breva 1100 I thought I should check the ring gap clearance. Just measured one ring, the top ring, at 22 thou. I cant find any specs on this does any one know of any or what the max gap should be? If I were to replace the rings I presume that there is no...

Loose catalyst inside the standard exhaust box

I have purchased a lower priced exhaust balance box as mine had a broken flange where it joins the down pipe. On receiving I found that it had the catalyst loose inside and can be heard by shacking. Rather than sending back to the person I bought it from I'm considering fixing it as it cost...

    Parts diagram Section 44 wrong?

Breva 1100 I'm reassembling the timming side of the engine. The camshaft has a centrifugal disk (aluminium) and a phonic wheel. The parts diagram shows the centrifugal disk (item 22) behind the phonic wheel (Item 8). If this is the case the centrifugal disk fouls the three bolts of the...
